Supercharge Your Rehab With Our New Laser Therapy

Who reading this suffers from pain and dysfunction?

Thankfully, here at Laguna Orthopedic Rehabilitation we are now even more equipped to help you reach your rehab and recovery goals.

We are very proud and excited to announce the arrival of a new LightForce EXPi laser therapy machine.

And with this new Physical Therapy tool, we have another option to help reduce your pain and speed up your recovery time.

So if you're looking to supercharge your recovery or just need a little more information before taking the plunge, here's why we've decided to incorporate laser therapy into our practice.

What Does This Laser Do

In general, laser therapy uses light to stimulate local cellular activity.

This creates a strong potential for natural pain-relief and faster healing for those suffering from an acute injury or chronic pain.

When is Laser Therapy Appropriate

Thanks to its ability to reduce pain and stimulate faster healing, laser therapy is useful in the following scenarios:

  • Following an acute injury

  • Acute pain

  • Chronic pain

  • Wound healing

  • Prior to activity to enhance performance

What To Expect When Having Laser Therapy

At Laguna Orthopedic Rehabilitation, we administer our laser therapy in an independent room for safety reasons.

Each patient's experience will differ slightly based on the nature of their condition, but there are some general things to expect.

In-rooms:

  • A discussion with your Physical Therapist to determine the appropriate dose of laser therapy

  • A maximum of three people allowed in our treatment room at any one time (therapist and yourself included)

  • Each person must wear eye protection provided

  • Treatment may take as little as a few minutes based on your recommended dosage

  • You may or may not experience a heating sensation

Post-treatment:

  • A measurable reduction in your pain over the next 24 hours

  • A measurable improvement in function

  • Improved rate of tissue healing

  • No observable skin reddening

We are in the business of trying to help you reach your rehabilitation goals, so it's important to us you feel things are progressing.

With this in mind, we ask that you give our therapists your honest feedback during treatment, post-treatment and at your next consultation. This helps achieve optimal treatment results.

What is the Cost of Our Laser Therapy

We are finding really strong results with laser therapy and want to make it as easily accessible as possible for you to try.

Because of this, we are giving each and every patient the chance to experience it FREE outside of their regular treatment. If you do not wish to continue with our laser therapy after the first consultation there are no further obligations.

In the likely event you do wish to continue with laser therapy as a part of your plan of care, we have a number of packages available.

Class IV Laser Therapy Prices:

1 visit at $75

3 visits at $195

6 visits at $330

10 visits at $450

*All packages must be used within 1 year of purchase

It's worth noting the original FREE session will be absorbed into your laser therapy package as part of the pricing.

Is Laser Therapy Safe?

Clearly a consideration for many, it's important to reassure you that when administered by qualified staff, laser therapy is entirely safe.

As laser therapy uses focused light to stimulate a cellular response it's important to recognize the potential for superficial tissue to get hot. However, this is not something to be concerned about as your therapist will take steps to avoid this. If things do start to heat up a little too much for your liking, it's important to let your therapist know so they can adjust your dosage and application accordingly.

Pleasingly, laser therapy also poses no threat to metal implants - unlike other options such as therapeutic Ultrasound. Traditionally, we would avoid using such treatments over joint replacements and metal implants, but the light from laser therapy is not absorbed. It reflects leaving metal implants unaffected.

There is also no risk of cancer or illness from laser therapy.
